Acknowledgements

Creggan Enterprise Limited (CEL) wishes to acknowledge the role played by the International Fund for Ireland, the Department of the Environment (DoE), Derry City Council, the Social Economy Agency (SEA) and European Union Regional Development Fund, Voluntary & Community Unit DSD and the EU Urban Programme, Local Strategy Partnership, Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment and EU Peace II Programme.

All these bodies have been extremely supportive of the Creggan community in assisting CEL to regenerate the area. Indeed, if we carefully examine their contribution and partnership with CEL, over the past number of years, they provide an example of a working partnership for others to follow.

The partnership which CEL has developed with such organisations demonstrates that it is possible to work strategically with local groups to address the economic, social and training needs of local communities.

It remains CEL's main goal to promote investment and job opportunities which develop the area's own indigenous sector. We also believe that the ongoing development of communities like Creggan should be community-led and community driven.
